New products and supplements for freight traffic 2024
At the meeting of the CIM Committee on 28 March 2024, the following new CIT freight traffic products were unanimously adopted:
- Checklist for reporting irregularities in the international carriage of goods by rail;
- Information sheet: Provisions for the organisation and transport of waste goods
- Info sheet: Handling of seals.
These came into force on 1 July 2024 for all CIT members in accordance with the opting-in principle.
In addition, the amendments below were made to the updated versions of the GLV-CIM, GLW-CUV, GTM-CIT, and the Checklist for sealing wagons, with effect from 1 July 2024.
These amendments relate to the following points:
- CIM Consignment Note Manual (GLV-CIM): Appendix 2, box 7, code 26, indication for the transport of waste; Appendix 2, box 7, code 42, additional indication of the customs procedure code in the consignment note; Appendix 2, box 21, additional indication of "T MRN" and "TS MRN"; Appendix 2, box 21, ninth indent, other means of indication; Appendix 2, box 21, additional explanatory note for the transport of waste;
- CUV Wagon Note Manual (GLW-CUV): Appendix 2, box 7, code 26, indication for the transport of waste;
- CIT Freight Traffic Manual (GTM-CIT): Working sheet 02-02, fourth indent deleted; Working sheet 02-02, new NHM codes for empty wagons added; Working sheet 02-03, fourth indent amended; Appendix 15 to Working sheet 02-05, paragraph 3 sentence 1 supplemented with a new footnote; Appendices 16b and 16d "minimum dimensions" added in brackets;
- Checklist for sealing wagons, Appendix 1 GTM-CIT, editorial amendments for RCH wagon types.
These new CIT freight traffic products and supplements were notified to all CIT members on 30 May 2024. They can be found on the CIT website at https://cit-rail.org/en/freight-traffic/products/.
